Provides subsidized programs

• Provide nature connection programming and mentorship to youth from low-income households. 25% of youth attending EverWild qualify for needs-based scholarships. EverWild’s Adventure for All program will expand our ability to impact more youth from marginalized communities.

Transports youth from urban areas of Los Angeles to local wildlands

• Youth who spend more time immersed in wild spaces receive stronger and more positive attitudes toward nature. EverWild’s adventure vans transport youth from urban Los Angeles to immerse them directly in wild spaces including wetlands, coastal landscapes, and mountain ranges.

Advances equitable access to time in nature

• Youth from low-income households and communities of color face greater barriers to accessing quality experiences in nature. Providing opportunities for marginalized youth to receive mentorship and time in nature provides racial, social, and economic justice for youth in resource deprived communities. Equitable access to nature during the early years of life creates a long-lasting impact well into adulthood.

Provides quality mentorship

• We believe you can only support others with what you have first experienced yourself. By providing professional development opportunities for our mentors to deepen their relationship with the natural world and expand their professional tool belt, we are ensuring youth receive high quality mentorship.

Enrich the lives of youth

• The research is out! Spending time in nature is proven to be vital to youth’s development including their health, happiness, and intelligence. Connecting with nature supports their self-esteem, social-emotional well-being, coping mechanisms, stress levels, academic achievement, and promotes pro-environmental behaviors.
