Our most requested camping trip of the year is returning for the Summer of 2024!
Last year we camped under the stars at Arroyo Hondo Preserve, the “Jewel of the Gaviota Coast,” a 782-acre Preserve in the magnificent canyon located west of Santa Barbara between Refugio State Beach and Gaviota State Park. This year we will be traveling to Steckel Park in Santa Paula. Upon arriving at our location, we will meet up with youth and mentors from two other leading nature connection organizations, Wilderness Youth Project and Ventura Wild, for a 4-day, 3-night nature immersive experience.
Together we will focus on building skills such as communication, empathy, intrinsic movement, risk management, resilience, patience, confidence, nature literacy, and more. We will practice these skills through earth-based activities, games, story telling, crafts, and songs - covering topics such as Ecology, Bird Language, Survival Skills, Journaling, Tracking & Wildlife Signs, Plant Identification, and more.
